Half-time administrative and half-time teaching position.
Duties:
- Administers a dynamic, multi-faceted, and nationally recognized student development and support program that serves all UCM students through credit courses in writing, mathematics, learning strategies, and supplemental instruction; academic support centers (Writing Center and Learning Center); TRIO programs (Student Support Services and McNair); and student success and retention programs (First-Year Experience, Learning Communities, Conditional Admit Program, Early Alert, Suspension Waiver, and Valuing Differences).
- Leads, energizes, and supports innovative and collaborative initiatives in student success and retention.
- Provides administrative leadership related to personnel, budgets, facilities, curriculum and services, public relations, and assessment
- Serves as Department advocate
- Understands and supports advanced technology in higher education
- Participates in professional and scholarly activities
- Possesses good communication, computer, and problem-solving skills
- Produces data regarding program management and assessment
- Supervises 16 full-time and 16 part-time personnel
Required:
- Two masters, an educational specialist, or doctorate in writing, reading, mathematics, educational psychology, or related areas
- College teaching experience in reading, writing, mathematics, study skills, or related student development and success fields
Preferred:
- Administrative experience in higher education.
